Why Hvar is the best base for boat trips

Hvar town sits at the heart of the central Dalmatian archipelago, with the Pakleni Islands just across the channel, the island of Vis to the west, and Brač and Korčula within easy reach. This central position makes it the ideal starting point for exploring dozens of islands, beaches, and sea caves by boat.

The town harbour is well-protected and easy to navigate, with our boats moored just a few minutes' walk from the main square. Whether you're renting a boat for the day or joining one of our private tours, you'll be on the water within minutes of arriving.

With over 2,700 hours of sunshine per year, Hvar is officially the sunniest island in Croatia — and one of the sunniest in all of Europe. The sailing season runs from May through October, with warm sea temperatures from June.

Getting to Hvar town

From Split Airport or Split

The fastest way is a private boat transfer — 55 minutes door-to-door with our speedboat picking you up at the Split waterfront. Alternatively, take the Jadrolinija catamaran (1h to Hvar) or car ferry to Stari Grad (2h) + 30 min drive.

From Dubrovnik

Catamaran via Korčula (seasonal, ~3.5h), or private speedboat transfer. Most visitors fly into Split, which is much closer.
