Perna is a dream for those who want that "Caribbean" water color. Because it has a fine sandy bottom, the water stays a bright, milky turquoise. It's much quieter than Palmižana — perfect for a peaceful swim after the morning crowds arrive elsewhere.
Tucked into Sveti Klement, the largest of the Pakleni islands, Perna is sheltered by dense Mediterranean pine and maquis scrub. It sees a fraction of the crowds that gather nearby, making it a favourite among sailors and those in the know.
There are no bars or restaurants at Perna itself, so come prepared with your own drinks and snacks and enjoy the rare peace of having a Pakleni cove almost to yourself. The natural shade from the pines at the back of the beach offers welcome relief from the midday sun.
