La pasara è la barca della costa dalmata: una piccola imbarcazione aperta a fondo piatto con cui pescatori e famiglie, qui, raggiungono da secoli la cala successiva. La nostra conserva la forma classica in uno scafo di plastica resistente e a bassa manutenzione, con un silenzioso motore da 6 CV, ed è il modo più affascinante e più economico di passare una giornata in mare a Hvar.
È una barca lenta, ed è proprio questo il punto. A circa cinque nodi le isole Pakleni hanno esattamente la misura giusta per lei: Jerolim è a meno di dieci minuti dal nostro molo, le baie di Marinkovac a circa un quarto d'ora, Palmižana a poco più di mezz'ora. A est della città, Pokonji Dol e Mekićevica sono altrettanto vicine. Attraversate il canale a passo lento, gettate l'ancora in una baia che vi piace, vi tuffate dalla scaletta e ripartite quando vi va. Nessuno ha mai avuto fretta su una pasara.
La barca porta fino a cinque persone ed è adatta a coppie, piccole famiglie e amici che vogliono una giornata rilassata e indipendente piuttosto che la velocità. La disposizione aperta lascia spazio a una borsa frigo e alle borse da spiaggia, una scaletta da bagno facilita il ritorno a bordo, e a bordo ci sono bussola e dotazione di sicurezza completa. Il carburante è incluso nel prezzo, quindi a fine giornata non c'è nulla da conteggiare.
La guidate voi. La legge croata richiede una patente nautica valida per qualsiasi imbarcazione a motore, compresa questa, e la verifichiamo al ritiro; se nessuno del vostro gruppo ce l'ha, la strada giusta sono le nostre barche con skipper o un tour privato. Con la patente, la consegna dura dieci minuti: vi mostriamo i comandi, segniamo le baie migliori sulla carta e vi diciamo da dove soffierà il vento nel pomeriggio. Ritiro al nostro molo nel porto di Hvar, accanto all'approdo dei traghetti, e riconsegna entro sera.
