About Golden Horn & North Coast Tunnels

This 8-hour route is the most efficient way to combine Hvar's secret north coast with Brač's legendary Golden Horn — always moving forward, never backtracking, with maximum time on the beach.

You begin by rounding the wild Cape Pelegrin, entering the Bruške Vale — a string of three turquoise bays on Hvar's north side that most visitors never see. After a morning swim, your skipper makes a straight 20-minute dash across the Hvar Channel to Brač's south coast.

The first Brač stop is Smrka Bay — a hidden cove with massive Cold War-era naval tunnels carved into the cliffs. Nose the RIB right into the tunnel, snap photos of the eerie interior, then jump into the crystal-clear water at the tunnel mouth. It's the kind of stop that makes this tour unforgettable.

From Smrka, it's a fast 15-minute cruise along the Brač coast past the vineyards of Murvica to Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) — where you'll have a full 4–5 hours to swim, sunbathe, explore Bol town, and enjoy a long lunch.

The return route passes through the Pakleni Islands for a sunset swim before dropping you back in Hvar Town.

Good to Know

  • Route is wind-smart — Hvar's north side and Brač's south side offer smooth water if the afternoon Maestral picks up
  • Pro tip — for a high-end lunch without leaving the beach, try Auro Beach Bar in the pines of Zlatni Rat. For a proper sit-down meal, Konoba Dalmatino in Bol town centre is the local gold standard
  • All ages welcome — Golden Horn has shallow water, beach bars, and shade

Itinerary

  1. 10:00

    Departure from Hvar Town

Pickup from Šetalište Put Križa 3 (near the fisherman statue) or your Hvar waterfront location. Quick safety briefing, then we round Cape Pelegrin heading for Hvar's wild north coast.

  2. ~10:20

    Bruške Vale — Stiniva / Jagodna (Brusje)Highlight

Your first swim of the day in a hidden turquoise bay on Hvar's north coast. These secret coves below Brusje village are the "hidden" versions of more famous namesakes — bright turquoise water, pebble beaches, and almost no one around.

  3. ~11:00

Smrka Bay — Submarine Tunnel (Brač)Highlight

A straight 20-minute dash across the Hvar Channel brings you to Brač's most unique stop. Nose the RIB right into the massive Cold War-era naval tunnel, take photos of the eerie interior, then jump into the deep crystal-clear water at the tunnel mouth.

  4. ~11:30

Zlatni Rat — Golden Horn (Bol)Highlight

Arrival at Croatia's most iconic beach. A fast 15-minute cruise from Smrka along the Brač coast past the vineyards of Murvica. Drop-off at the beach or Bol harbour.

  5. 11:30–16:00

Free time at Bol & Golden Horn

4–5 hours to enjoy the beach, swim in the crystal-clear shallows, sunbathe in the pine shade, explore Bol town, or enjoy a long lunch. Try Auro Beach Bar for cocktails on the sand, or Konoba Dalmatino in town for a proper Dalmatian meal.

  6. ~16:15

    Departure from Bol

Start the return journey back towards Hvar, cruising through the channel with the afternoon light.

  7. ~17:00

Palmižana & Pakleni Islands — sunset swimHighlight

Cruise through the Pakleni archipelago to Palmižana — the most beautiful bay in the islands. Swim, grab a cocktail, or simply enjoy the sunset light over the pines before the final stretch home.

  8. ~18:00

    Return to Hvar Town

Drop-off at the same pickup point, back in time for a sunset cocktail on the Riva.
