Hvar Island
A tiny, emerald-green pool perfect for smaller vessels — the wilder sibling of Velo Zaraće, with no facilities and raw, untouched nature.

Malo Zaraće is a tiny, secluded cove on the south coast of Hvar, roughly 5 nautical miles by boat from Hvar town and just around the headland from its larger sibling, Velo Zaraće. Hemmed in by steep, pine-clad cliffs, it shelters a narrow pebble beach and an emerald-green pool of water so clear you can watch fish drift beneath the boat.
Because the entrance is small and shallow, Malo Zaraće suits smaller vessels and tenders, which keeps the crowds away and the atmosphere wonderfully wild. There are no bars, restaurants or facilities here — bring your own water, food and shade — so it rewards those after raw, untouched nature rather than convenience. Drop anchor for a swim and a snorkel along the rocky sides, where the seabed shelves gently into deeper blue. Reaching Malo Zaraće by boat is easily combined with a stop at neighbouring Velo Zaraće or Dubovica on a south-coast cruise from Hvar.
